Puppy Abuse

Hey Roo!

I don't know what I did to deserve this kind of abuse. I mean really, I'm being loaded up like a pack mule here.

huMom used to carry everything. Our water, our treats, our water bowl... but she says now that's it's so hot that she can't carry enough water for all of us so I have to chip in.

Why me? Do you see Maebe carrying a pack? No, I don't see her with a pack either.

This was not an easy hike. We did the first mile of Ice Box Canyon up at Red Rock on Monday. See how rocky it is? It was hot too. At our first water stop, we drank half of the water I was carrying. So huMom said we had to turn around.

Thankfully, we got back to the HUV and huMom took that blasted pack off. We didn't see any critters on the trail, but check out this guy we saw from the HUV as we were driving through the Red Rock Loop!

He was standing right next to the road. All huMom had to do was pull over and open the passenger-side window to take the pic!
Don't woo think Maebe should get her own pack too? After all, why should I suffer alone?

Trail Canyon Trail - Mt. Charleston

We are catching up on our hiking adventures. We hiked the Trail Canyon trail a couple weekends ago up at Mt. Charleston. Unfortunately the hike was cut short since huMom's new shoes gave her blisters on her heel. She should just go barefoot like us!!

The Big Man came with us this time!

Bristlecone Trail Hiking Adventure

Hey Roo!

Happy 4th of July everywoo! We hope woo aren't too bothered by the fireworks. I don't like them, especially when the dumb humans are shooting them off while I'm trying to enjoy my walk. It just makes me want to go back home.

Anywoo, we have hiking pics to share with woo! We finally got our huMom to edit our Bristlecone Trail pics. It was a 6 mile hike that took us just over 2 hours. The first part was pretty steep, but the rest was either flat or downhill so we were able to cover enough ground before it got dark.

Ice Cream!!!

Hey Hey, it's Maebe Baebe!

We are helping our friends celebrate their achievement of Certified Good Boy (Steve) and Certified Good Girl (Kat) be eating ice cream cones!!

Our huMom got it all on video. She won't win any academy awards, but here it is all the same.

They were delicious, although I think Kayla got a little brain freeze. Right after we got our ice cream we went on a hike. We will write about that in our next post.

Cross-training

Hey Hey, it's Maebe Baebe!

We have been hard at work training huMom for her running. We have got her up to 10 miles. That's pretty far for a human, so we think it is time for incorporating some cross-training to keep things fresh and interesting.

For today's workout, we had huMom load us all up in the HUV and drive up to Red Rock Canyon for some hiking!! We decided to attempt the trail called Calico Tanks. The trail is only 1.2 miles long, but it included some rock climbing and scrambling. It was furry tricky to get all 3 of us climbing at the same time in the same direction. We had to turn around when the climb involved a big log, and we were not properly equipped to handle that. huMom says next time we will have to wear our harnesses and each have our own leash.

There were also some spots where there was standing water so we had some fun sloshing through the mud. We did our best to lead huMom through the muddy way instead of the rocky way. Wet feety feets are good for training!

We met a few other doggies on the trail, and of course other humans who wanted to pet us and get some husky kisses.

A Sweet Award from Our Sweet Friends!

We just got a pawsome award from our Cyber Sibe friends, Jack and Moo! Thank woo Jack and Moo!

That is a furry sweet and happy award. We are supposed to list 10 of our favorite things and pass along to 10 of our favorite friends. We are going to be furry generous and let anywoo (or anycat) who hasn't gotten the award yet to be awarded!! HaWooooo!!

1. We go nutter for peanut butter!

Working Dogs

Woo all! Long time no see! We have been busy helping our huMom with her marathon training. Today we ran and walked 8 miles with her. It can be hard work to keep her motivated, but we do the best we can.

We have missed all our blogging friends! We are at our 100th post, and we had a really bad case of writer's block. We have no idea how to celebrate. I guess this will be just one big update post to let woo all know what we've been up to.

First of all, it is of course Christmas and we got some good swag. Here we are enjoying our favorites.

On Christmas Eve, huMom tried to dress us up. Why doesn't she understand how much we hate dressing up? Pictures with the bandannas...

And then the dang reindeer antlers... (Maebe thought it was a toy and kept trying to bite them off of me)

As woo can see, we are not thrilled with the whole "dress woo up for pictures" thing.

This fall, our huMom was training for a 1/2 marathon, and we helped her train on her shorter runs. She is pretty slow, really it was just a medium-paced trot for us. Maebe helped her train more, since I am more of a daytime running pup and there's not enough daylight in the wintertime. She ran the race on December 6th and survived. While she could not take any actual pics of us running together, here's a pic of us all tuckered out after a 3-mile run.

And here we are while she is trying to get ready to go for a long run, exchanging kissy-woos.

This is from mid-November, when the big man made Maebe into a Maebe sandwich.

WOO may remember that earlier this year we got tested to be doggie blood donors. Unfortunately Maebe didn't qualify (and as woo may remember, I made sure I didn't qualify).

Finally, it was our birthday in September. Here we are with our personalized Happy Heart cookies! Thank woo nice Happy Heart human lady!

We hope woo get lots of walkies, hugs, love, and treats this year!!

Hey Roo!

We are so excited!!! Our Grandmaw has come to visit us for a few days. We gave her our special greeting reserved for only the closest of friends and family. We jumped all over her, kissed her feet, kissed her face, gave her a good sniff, and tried to eat the goodies in her bag.
Then they got the bed set up. Here is Maebe making sure it is comfy.

We have her trained well. She is to give us lots of pets all the time.

Today is our birthday! We are five years old today. The humans had to work today, but we got some extra special stuff tonight! First huMom tried to vacuum (whatever for?) but the Dyson decided to honor our birthday by not working! Yay Dyson! Next, our huMom gave us a greenie for our teethies, they we got to go to the dog park. While I was there, I decided to hump both of the huskies that were there. The owner of the girl I humped was an unspayed female and her owner got mad at me, but when huMom explained that I am a girl she started to laugh. Silly humans don't understand my domineering moves! After that, we got some nice new nylabones. Here we are chewing them:

We didn't get a cake this year, but we did get a whole bunch of Happy Hearts treats today. We also got a cool new toy that we will show woo a pic of tomorrow.

The Screening Process

Hey Roo!

We had quite a busy morning today. huMom said she wanted us to work off some excess energy first, so we went to the DOG PARK!!

Yes, we have picked up a few tips from SZK!

huMom tried to take pics of us together but wasn't too happy our pawsitioning... she said this pic was the best one. Haroooo!! There weren't very many doggies there, but we did meet a nice girl named Roxy.

Let's hang out in the shade for awhile. ***pant pant pant***

After we got back in the HUV, huMom took a left instead of a right... where are we going? When we got out of the HUV, she took us somewhere we have never been before.

Hmmmm... this is kind of like the v*e*t, but it's NOT the v*e*t...

They took Maebe back first (huMom says she is the braver one, hmmmmph), then she explained to me why we were here. She says we are here for blood donor screening. This place is called the Las Vegas Veterinary Referral Center, and they have an animal blood bank. So if doggies or kitties get hurt, the blood they get from here can save their life. If we pass the screening, we may be able to give the gift of life.

That wasn't so bad!

We don't have any pics of what they did to us (let's just say it involved needles, yuck!) but we did get sent home with a big bag of treats each. The doctor had to get my sample from my leg, I just wasn't into pokey things in my neck. I snarled at her a little. She said if I did become a donor I would probably have to be sedated, but due to my temperament I may not be a suitable donor. I want to help other doggies and all, but I REALLY don't like pokey things. If we pass the basic screening and have the universal blood type, then Maebe will go back again (I will if I HAVE to).

As if that wasn't enough excitement for one day, we went to another place after we were done with the screening. Yes, the v*e*t... we got our butts squeezed and our nails clipped.

I want to go home.

huMom was happy to hear that we were pretty empty back there. So we won't have to go again for a really long time, right???

I am in such a good mood today. My dumb sister Maebe tried to embarrass me by submitting a fake "problem" to Dr. Steve. Fortunately, he was smart enough to see right through it and wrote the prescription for the true offending parties, the humans.

You see, I am the princess of the house and I do as I please, when I please. I answer to no one. Maebe doesn't like that because she thinks she is alpha dog, but I just ignore her. Also, I don't like baths so when the humans try to capture me for bathing, I piddle to punish them. It's as simple as that. So here is what Dr. Steve prescribed for my humans:

Raft Training

Hey Hey, it's Maebe Baebe!

The humans thought it would be a good day for some raft training. They would like to take us camping at Bowman Lake at Glacier National Park next year, and the humans think one of the best parts of the trip is rafting on the lake. Here are a couple pics of our predecessors, Rex and Sheena, on the raft:

And here is Sheena on the raft on Bowman Lake. It doesn't look too exciting to us. In fact, she is looking bored to DEATH.

Kayla's training came first. She really didn't like being in the raft. She was quite tense and was looking for a way out.

HuMom was a little late starting this video, but woo know how much Kayla and I dislike swimming in the pool. Check this out:

Kayla hates the raft even more than she hates swimming. She is so strange.

My training came next. I wasn't quite sure what to do with my back feet. So I gave the Big Man a kiss, then huMom came along and pushed me in.

This isn't so bad!

Eventually, I decided I had enough of the raft.

How did woo like that? I found a way out and only got my feety-feets wet! Pretty smart of me, wouldn't woo say?

My Prescription Has Arrived!

Hey Hey, it's Maebe Baebe!

Recently, Dr. Steve gave me a prescription to help me overcome my chewiness problem. This is the prescription he gave me:

I showed this to my huMom so she could fill it right away. She started by buying a couple of bananas. But it was apparently too much trouble for her to follow Kat's easy banana bone recipe so the bananas turned to mush. HuMom then said that we might get a turkey drumstick at Thanksgiving, and there are no squirrels around. I was furry upset at her inability to get my prescription filled in a timely manner.

At last, she ordered us some Happy Hearts cookies and their huMom came to the rescue! She sent us lots of squirrels!! My prescription got filled at last. Here I am waiting patiently for my first squirrel: huMom thought it would be nice if Kayla got one too. I didn't think that it was appropriate or safe for my prescription to be shared, but Kayla got mad when I tried to take my squirrel back.

Finally, I got to enjoy my squirrel. I licked it a few times first, then I gobbled it down. What a delicious prescription!

I think Happy Hearts are awesome. We got some of the new watermelon flavor to try. We were reminded of Dave at AO4, since he loves watermelons so much. We also got our very own personalized cookies, which are now on our sidebar. YUMMI YUMMI YUMMI!!! And thank woo Dr. Steve for caring enough to diagnose me and provide an appropriate prescription.

Dubs the New Huskies Mascot!

As some of woo know, our huMom went to the University of Washington for some of her training. Did woo know their mascot is the husky? Cool huh! Except.... usually their "Husky" is actually a Malamute. Now I don't have anything against Mal's... it just seems a little like false advertising is all.

The last mascot retired awhile ago and now they have a new one. Do woo think they got a Husky this time?

That's OK though. Why? Because the new mascot is a blogging doggie, and he's CUUUUUUTE!!!

Our Crazy Coupl'r

The OP Pack asked if our huMom remembers where she bought our coupler. Of course she doesn't, so I went and checked myself and at least I found the name of the brand on the tag on the coupler:

huMom is not very happy with the coupler again. Kayla managed to yank her way free last night on our walk. Fortunately huMom grabbed Kayla before she realized she was free... huMom is also mad she can't find any instructions anywhere on the internet about how to use the coupler properly. Now she's convinced herself that the nylon part wasn't meant to go over our heads, but if it doesn't it's way too long.

Oh, and AO4, coupler or no coupler, I mark on Kayla's head every now and then. She needs to be reminded who's boss, and if she's not bright enough to get her head out of the way when I do my business... am I doing anything wrong?

Walkin' on the Weekend

Hey Roo! We have some videos to share today. Our huMom bought this new coupler for us a couple years ago, but didn't like it so she put it away to sell on eBay some day. Well... you might not be surprised to hear that it was still sitting in a box. She decided to pull it out and try it again. She put it on us and it was hanging on the ground. She had an idea - maybe she could clip the extra length to our collars! The results are as so:

Don't those extra loops look silly hanging by our heads? As we were walking along, a light bulb went off in huMom's head: "Maybe those extra loops are supposed to go on OVER THEIR HEADS!" So she slipped the loops over our heads and this is the result:

Doesn't that look better? Our huMom is happy that we aren't yanking on her so much. She would much rather we yank each other around.

My Ordeal - Part 2

Hey Roo!

Thanks to woo who left the kind comments yesterday. I could have really used them when I was feeling crappy. My huMom needs a good clawing for waiting so long to transcribe my ordeal. At least she kept taking pics. I am doing fine now and my fur is growing back nicely in that area. In this post, I'll describe more about what it was like to wear that stupid lampshade.

So after a whole day of doing very little other than sleeping, I was feeling a little more chipper. This is the first time I've had to wear a cone, and it took me awhile to figure out how to maneuver while wearing this stupid thing. Every time I would go to sniff something it would drag on the ground and I couldn't figure out how to make it stop. When I went to the back yard, I tried to stay close to the house to be safe, but that cone would just drag alongside the house and make a horrible sound. I hated to walk anywhere. HuMom was patient though, and took me out for walks and walked very slowly until I got the hang of sniffing with the cone, and seeing with the cone, and walking with the cone.

Here, I was so happy because I finally figured out how to work the bone with this thing on my head:

My Ordeal

Hey Roo!

Finally, we got our huMom off her butt and back to updating our blog. That human should win an award for laziness and neglect. HOW many weeks has it been since she has updated our blog?!?!?!

This is waaaay after the fact, but I did have surgery on my back side recently. I was very upset when my huMom went to Hawaii (again!) without me, and the Big Man went for a few days too. I showed them... an abscess on my hiney (actually 2)... when they got home. Unfortunately, they made me wear a lampshade for 10 whole days.

Hey Hey, it's Maebe Baebe! Our huMom took us both for a ride last night! We were so excited, it has been a long time since she took us both for a ride in the Siberian Utility Vehicle. Unfortunately, we ended up at the v*e*t.

As woo can see in this pic, Kayla isn't the least bit happy with this turn of events.

Just kidding, she yawned and her mouth looked all funny afterwards when this pic was taken!! We got our regular shots and rabies shots (I nipped the v*e*t for sticking me in the butt! But then huMom put me in a headlock and the v*e*t got the rest of it in...). Kayla is such a chicken. She cowered and started to tremble when the v*e*t looked in her ears and checked her out. He was being so gentle, I don't know what her problem is. And when the v*e*t took her to the back to get a heartworm test, she had to be practically dragged out of the room! Here I am laughing at her after she left:

The v*e*t was furry happy to see that my footy-foot is fine now. No more meds!

Soaking up the Sunshine

Hey Hey, it's Maebe Baebe!

It's been sunny and warm here, even by Vegas wintertime standards. It was almost 60 degrees today. HuMom kept the back door open for several hours so we could come and go as we pleased. Not as good as the snow some of woo have been getting, but not too bad all the same.

My paw is almost all healed up. The v-e-t will take one more look at it in a couple weeks. HuMom says we need to go and get our s-h-o-t-s anyways.

(PS Steve and Kat: yes our Grandmaw lives in Seattle. We have never been there but if we ever get to go we will definitely set a play date!! The Big Man abandoned us this weekend to go skiing at Stevens Pass with his buddies.)

I've got a bit of an owie on my paw. There is a big bulging thingy between two of my toes on my rear paw that makes it hurt when I walk. I tried to hide it from huMom but she noticed me limp a little... so she took me to the v-e-t.

Here I wait patiently...

Can I go now??

I can't tell if there is something in my paw that made it swell up like that. The doc started me with some pills so it will hopefully heal on its own. huMom made me promise her that I wouldn't lick it so much it would explode! She said that would mean a trip back to the v-e-t immediately. If it doesn't heal that also means a trip back so they can do a little "exploring". I didn't like the sound of that, so I'll take my pills in my pill pocket treats, thank you!! Hopefully that will do the trick.

Get Fit

Hey Roo!

We haven't been keeping up with everybody's blogs as much as we like because there is a new toy in our house. And of course, we have to help our humans learn how to use it properly and that has taken a lot of our time over the last few days.

Some of you may have one in your house. It is called a "Wii", and it has a friend called "balance board". Our huMom got it for the Big Man for Christmas, but she uses it more than he does. As you might not be surprised to hear, our assistance has been required on several occassions.

First, we had to make sure that the yoga mat was properly haired prior to use.

Next, I had to demonstrate how to properly stand on the balance board for maximum efficiency (ahem... Maebe's tail got in the way of a great shot).

We don't have a pic of this, but our huMom had a lot of trouble with the "Down Dog" yoga pose. We don't understand how this could be so difficult. But to get our huMom in the correct pawsition, we both had to lick her face constantly throughout the entire pose until it was over. We got confirmation from the Wii that our help was very successful, since it ranked huMom's performance "Yoga Master". What would she do without us?

Tonight is the winter solstice. Seems like winter got here about a week ago though! It is a special night because we remember all the Sibes that are north of the Rainbow Bridge. The Siberian Husky Memorial Candle Ceremony takes place tonight at 8 pm wherever you live. Tonight there are over 240 Sibes on the list. We wish all of these Siberian Huskies Godspeed, and a Swift Trail. Our humans' first Sibes, Rex and Sheena, are on the list tonight. Here are a few pics of them:

Those Lying Liars...

Hey Hey, it's Maebe Baebe!

Well, the humans cannot predict the weather. Wanna know how much snow we got at our house Wednesday night?

Zero inches.

That's right. It was a few degrees too warm, so we got lots of rain, and a little mixed snow and rain. Our friends on the south side of the valley got snow. But we got nothing but cold, wet rain.

If that wasn't bad enough, our huMom kept teasing us. She would throw open the door and ask "is it snowing yet?", so of course we had to run outside to check and we just got rained on. And this happened again, and again, and again. Hummmph.

Now it's just cold. Well, by Vegas standards anyway. It was 31 degrees when we got up this morning. Just another boring day around the house...
...and Kayla is just nibbling her leg...

Embarrassment

Hey Roo!

Today we talk football. And only because there's biscuits involved.

Our huMom went to the University of Washington, so she thinks that makes her a husky (Yeah right... their mascot is really a MAL!!!). She and the big man had season tickets during the 1991 football season when they pretty much steamrolled over their opponents. But lately, her beloved Huskies has been playing more like a steaming turd.

Today was to be the day for redemption. The Apple Cup, Washington vs Washington State. Known this year, however, as the Apple Core Cup, since for both of these teams, the meat seems to be missing from the apple. One win between both teams. But to a Husky fan, a win over WSU can make up for all other losses.

The tradition is that we get biscuits with every touchdown. Let's just say we each got 1 biscuit. And we lost in double overtime 13-16. Another sad day for the purple and gold. That makes us 0-11 and we look forward to getting our butts kicked at Cal next week. Lame! Lame! Lame! Lame!

I was poking around cyberspace and took a glimpse at huMom's blog. She hardly ever posts anything there but I saw something about her going here:

Hmmmm... what is this place? Do we get to to to the ocean like the Thundering Herd just did?

So I did a little investigating and no... we don't get to go to the ocean. HuMom says "we get to go to the doggie hotel" while her and the big man get on a plane and go to Hawaii. For 9 whole days. That's not fair!!!!

We remember the doggie hotel. Oh yes, it's noisy, there's lots of other doggies there yapping away at nothing, there's only a little play time, and we get *gasp* b-a-t-h-s at the end!!! So starting next Friday, woo may not see any posts from us for awhile. I begin to plot my revenge.

Hey Roo!

We miss our buddies!! Our huMom needs some serious remedial training. When was our last post??? And we are so far behind reading our friends' blogs it isn't even funny.

So what is her excuse? Something called "bizzy season". She claims that she is too busy packing orders and keeping up her running and taking care of our basic needs to transcribe our blogs. Meanwhile, we continue to be assaulted by warm weather. It was almost 80 degrees today - on November 17!! That's just not right. Here is a recent pic of us in our habitat:

We're through cutting huMom slack. She will edit our pics and vids and start posting them again!! We want to share our Halloween vids. No, we didn't get dressed up thank WOO!! Huffle and Uncle Jeff Visits!!

Our huMom has been neglecting us. Fortunately, Huffle stopped by to visit last week and we had so much fun!! But as they say, what happens in Vegas STAYS IN VEGAS!!

Then HuMom disappeared for awhile, but she came back with a very special human, uncle Jeff!!
We gave him the standard greeting. Lots of kisses....By now we are taking it easy on him. HuMom missed the pic of me giving him a big hug (on his back with my paws on his shoulders). Oh well!
Then huMom disappeared again for FIVE DAYS!!! Here is the pic that kicked off her trip: We are just glad she found her way back home...

Heart Walk

Hey Roo!

HuMom took me on a very special walk today! We pawticipated in the Las Vegas Heart Walk which raises funds for the American Heart Association. We walked in honor of huMom's Uncle James and Grandpa Pete - sadly, they each passed away after having a heart attack not too long ago.

It was a very nice walk. Today is the coolest day of fall so far - it was only about 50 degrees this morning and it was really windy. So I didn't get hot. HuMom was so happy that I did my biz before leaving the house. She remembers one year during the walk when Sheena pooped in the middle of the sidewalk right in front of a group of senior executives from the company where she works. I did huMom proud and was very well behaved on the walk (except when I tried to trip someone to meet a nice Rotty!)

HuMom forgot to take a pic before the walk, but here I am right after. HuMom tried to get me to sit in front of the sign, but I really didn't feel like it. So I made sure her shadow messed up the pic and she didn't get the whole sign either (you can see huMom's shadow on the lower left):

Isn't that a cool heart bandana she had me wear? I don't mind wearing banadanas. Then huMom got some creamsicles and she shared one with me! I never had a creamsicle before. It was delicious. She dropped me off at home so she could get her allergy shot before they closed. After she got back home, she took this pic. Boy am I pooped! The walk was a 5k - plus we had to park about a half mile away and there was extra walking so we probably walked a total of 5 miles this morning!

WUBBA!!!!!

Hey Hey, it's Maebe Baebe!

We are so excited to tell WOO about our birthday presents... we finally got our own WUBBAS!! I got a big pink camo wubba: Kayla got a fuzzy snuggly purple wubba:
Notice how our wubbas match our collars!! We are stylin' as always. We weren't quite sure what to make of our wubbas at first. We sniffed them, then carried them into the living room. Then I figured I would just steal Kayla's wubba. HaWOOOOOOOOOO!!

Then huMom showed us that the pink one squeaks and they are both really fun to chase! Here's the first video where we learn how fun wubbas are:

And this video shows Kayla actually doing a little fetching and retrieve! Just a little.... then she's back to her Goofy Hoosky self.

HuMom's trying out Adobe Premiere Elements to edit these vids... it's taking her a little while to learn so it might be a couple days before she gets the doggie park vids done.

Come Celebrate With Us!

Guess what - today is our birthday!! Today we are 4 years young. We invite everydoggy and Huffle to enjoy a little Pawshake Cake with us!!

Here is how the cake turned out, it now has cream cheese and carob frosting and 4 biscuit "candles":

WOO may remember from yesterday that huMom baked us two cakes, one for each of us. Well... now woo only see one cake. Somedoggy who is known for doing a little countersurfing from time to time silently moved the trap that huMom set and stole her cake a day early while it was cooling:
HuMom was pretty pissed and she ditched her fancy frosting plans and hand wrote the "K" and "M" into the frosting. And I am mad because now we have less cake to share with our friends. So you can thank MAEBE for being such a pig. Needless to say MAEBE has a little case of the cow pies today. So she got a really small piece today.

We are back! Our huMom has been running (uh... if you can call it that) and it has just been making her lazy... but since she takes one of us with her when she goes we can't complain too much. And we got to go to the Dog Park this morning. There weren't any other huskies there but we had fun any way.

Monday Memories - Superman!

I've posted about my Superman pose before. My huMom thinks it is the cutest pawsition ever. I was at it again last night, and huMom went for her camera. By the time she got it I was like this:

Nya nya na nya nya!! Unfortunately huMom is very persistent, a few minutes later, she got me!

Phooey. And here is a vid from the vault from November 2005. I've been doing the Superman pose furever!! Notice I still had a dark mask around my eyes. I was about 14 months old in this vid.

Special Trip for me!

Hey Hey, it's Maebe Baebe!

I got to go on a special trip last night! Me and ME only!!! huMom took me to PetSmart. We needed to get some pill pockets and some treats. huMom usually goes by the "one arm one husky" rule but not when her purse takes one of the arms. I followed her out the door so I was the chosen one! I'm so smart...

The store was not busy, so there weren't very many other doggies there. huMom tried to show me the adoptable kitties but I was too busy sniffing the stuff right under my nose. Then we walked by the birdies... and OH BOY!!!! I could sit and stare at them for hours... but we had to go home.

Oh, and about the incident we reported on yesterday. Yes, it HAD to have been Biloxi sneaking out of his house and travelling nearly cross country to do our hallway too! After all, he is just a puppy and we are almost four. We agree with Kat also, our humans have not been paying enough attention to us and it's ALL THEIR FAULT!!! No way we can be blamed for that.

No camera on the Petsmart trip so here is a pic of me doing what I always do.... keeping watch perched up on the couch!So that's my story, woo a'tcha later! Maebe

Mystery Piddle

Hey Roo!

One of us has been peeing in the hallway the past few nights. We have taken a vow of silence and will not reveal the piddler. HuMom was worried and the Big Man was mad, so huMom took BOTH of us to the V*E*T earlier today. That wasn't what we had in mind!!!

(From huMom: Kayla has a yeast infection in her left ear, so she got some goop for that. The Dr. decided to take a closer look at Maebe, since I noted she has been acting a bit mopey... abdomen xrays showed no problems in the bladder or anywhere else, they took some of her pee and will check for UTI. If Maebe is clear, Kayla will get checked when her ear is rechecked next week. Otherwise they seem fine...)

Does Nike+ Mean More Runs for Us?

Hey Roo!

HuMom hasn't been transcribing for us because she got a new toy yesterday... a Nike+ SportBand! She's been talking about getting back into shape (whatever that means, what kind of shape does she want to be? She's got a rather unremarkable human shape). huMom also put a widget in her blog so she is accountable to the whole world to keep running with us. Running is MUCH better than walking.

Here is a pic of the part that goes on huMom's wrist (it shows we went 1.95 miles today!) The piece with the readout unplugs from the wrist band and it's got a USB plug on one end that updates the run automatically when plugged into the PC. Pretty swift!
Here is a pic of huMom's left running shoe, she took out the padded thingie and you can see the sensor!

Where have WOO been?

Hey Roo!

HuMom finally got to the end of the video tape, where she videoed our displeasure of being left alone all day last Thursday! This one is pretty short, since the tape ran out mid-WOO.

She ordered more video tapes from eBay so she will be able to video lots more of our antics soon! We will post more of our vault videos in the future. Unfortunately, there aren't very many of them. HuMom training is a life long and sometimes difficult process, but we think we have her well on her way on the video training. Because she can't document our puppy cuteness if the camcorder is in the safe!!

Hey Roo!

We finally got huMom to spring the GOOD video camera from the safe. I put on a good woooowooooo show for her, but after only a few seconds she ran out of tape! huMom was all "what the heck???" She decided to rewind and play the tape back, and at the very beginning was a play session of us and our old friend Sheena-Roo. Our very first video with the new camera. Now freed from the confines of the video tape and saved on the net to be shared with all.

We were almost 8 months old and Sheena was almost 10 1/2. Sheena lived to be 13, she went to the Rainbow Bridge on March 14, 2008. We miss her.... she taught us much about what it is to be a Sibe.

We went for a walk in the park. Here's a pic of my head stuck in a bush. I am tracking the scent of some wild puffy tail jackrabbits! The sun has set behind the mountains. It's still really hot but at least the sidewalk is OK to walk on.

Dog Park!!!!

Hey Roo! Yesterday we went to the DOG PARK (DP)!!! Here we are in the HTV (Husky Transport Vehicle):

Don't worry, huMom doesn't let us hang out the window like that when she drives, we were still in the driveway. huMom tried taking a video of us. It's kinda short and kinda lame, we will do better next time. We met a really cute all white Sibe boy, we didn't catch his name though. We put up our hair when we greeted each other, but he has pretty nice. We tried to get him to let us chase him but but he just wanted to chase us.... so we kinda just stood around. It's hard to play when nobody wants to be the prey! Woooooo!!!

huMom was very proud of us since we didn't pick on any of the other doggies this time. Sometimes we enjoy roughhousing with little doggies or puppies, especially if they show fear or run away (what???). huMom REALLY hates it when we act that way. As usual, Maebe got all drooley-faced, as she does only at the DP. Next time we will have to get a pic for ya.

Sunday Funday!

Hey Hey, it's Maebe Baebe!

It's still freakishly hot but we managed to have a little fun today. See that pigeon invading the wall between the pool and spa? Kayla alerted me to its presence and we got huMom to let us out and scare it away. No big rat bird invades OUR yard! I think Kayla's reflection in the door looks pretty cool!

Mom was concerned after we didn't want to come back in right away. She looked out the window and caught us lounging in the sun. Wooooops!

Later, Mom gave me a very tasty treat. I can't get enough of this stuff!

Finally, the Big Man shared some of his watermelon with us. I don't have any pics of that, but I do have a pic of that Goofy Hoosky Kayla with watermelon splat on her nose! She needs to pay attention when she is getting fed!

Hey Roo!

Blogger finally cooperated with our huMom and let her create our buddy list. Now it's easy to see when our buddies are up to something. Woo woooooo!

We hijacked the computer and we've been doing a lot of reading. That's why you haven't seen us for a few days. There is a lot out there in Siberspace to absorb, so much knowledge and wisdom!! We have recently learned about HULA and we've been studying the Her Royal Highness and Queen of Fluffiness Meeshka's blog very carefully. We will be submitting our HULA application soon as we are highly qualified and eager to lend our support the cause. I leave you with evidence of destruction - Mom planted some new things last spring and I really didn't like this one lily she planted... so I carefully removed it and ripped it to shreds, and left Mom a perfectly shaped hole to plant something NICER into. I am so considerate!
